Beginning in the 1950s, Cold River Materials got its start processing gravel products for FOB sales, hot-mix asphalt production, and construction projects. Originally maintained as separate companies owned by brothers Frank and Arthur Whitcomb, the facilities evolved throughout the 70s and 80s to begin its rock quarry operations which include millions of tons of reserves for the future. Today, Cold River Materials operates two crushing plants and one HMA plant in five locations. Between them, the company sells between 400,000 and 600,000 tons of material annually and looks forward to upholding our legacy for decades to come.
